Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of her most renowned covers. Katy Perry, who endorsed the track Runaway through her music, also gave it some more recognition. Honor her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memory is of finding an instrument hidden in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with the sounds that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged Aurora to study music. Not for a job or as a hobby, but rather for the sake of growing. So she started making her own lyrics. She credits renowned composers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan as inspirations, and also a love for Bjork's style. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mother said they can help other people, not to gain fame with her work but to make the people around them understand their importance and the ways they could impact the world. Her first piano lessons began at the age of six, and began composed music by the age of nine. It wasn't known to her family about her musical talents until she turned fourteen. She never had a desire to become Aurora. As she says, she is a fan of writing songs. According to her, music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
